Professor Jeannine Love

澳门六合开奖 Professor Jeannine Love, PhD, director of political science and professor of public administration, has been selected for the 2020 Frank Untermyer Teaching Excellence Award. Professor Untermyer was a founding member of the 澳门六合开奖 faculty. He taught political science and African studies from 1946 to 1982.

With a generous gift from Ms. Amy Likover, the family of Frank Untermyer established the annual Frank Untermyer Teaching Excellence Award to recognize 鈥渁n excellent teacher whose academic focus lies in social sciences, including political science, constitutional law, sociology, economics, and political history.鈥 The award recognizes and inspires faculty who share Professor Untermyer鈥檚 core values.

鈥淣ominations for the 2020 award resulted in a strong pool of faculty committed to Untermyer鈥檚 values,鈥 said Dr. Bonnie Gunzenhauser, PhD, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. "Professor Love鈥檚 teaching and research aligns strongly with the mission of the University and with Professor Untermyer鈥檚 interests in democratic self-rule which he promoted in his teaching.鈥

Professor Love will receive a monetary prize and will organize a one-hour interactive workshop for educators - "Facilitating Difficult Conversations in the Classroom" - which highlights her teaching and shares pedagogical best practices with other faculty. We are privileged to have Professor Untermyer鈥檚 daughter, Amy Likover, attend this year鈥檚 workshop and award presentation on Monday, April 6 at 4:30 p.m. in the 澳门六合开奖 Murray-Green Library. A collection of Frank Untermyer鈥檚 memorabilia and papers from the University archives will be on display. The College of Arts and Sciences is hosting this opportunity to honor the legacy of founding faculty Frank Untermyer as part of 澳门六合开奖鈥檚  celebration.
